Caffeinated is a personal app for logging energy drinks, tracking caffeine intake, and sharing your collection with friends. This policy explains what we collect while you do that, why, and who else ever sees it.
By creating an account, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Account information — your email address and password when you sign up, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase); we never see or store your raw password. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google instead, we receive the name and email they authorize you to share.
Profile information — username, display name, a bio you write, a profile photo, and a city/country you enter, used to personalize your profile and show a flag next to your name.
Check-ins & activity — every drink you log: the product, your star rating, tasting notes, serving type, and a verification photo taken with your camera — plus precise coordinates and a place name, but only for check-ins where you actively choose to add a location.
Photos — check-in verification photos and anything you post to the Community feed. Every photo is automatically screened before it becomes visible to others (see Section 3).
Social activity — who you follow, your followers, comments you leave, and likes you give or receive.
On-device only — display preferences (dark mode, your bedtime setting for the caffeine calculator) are stored only on your device, never sent to our servers.
Every photo you upload — a check-in verification photo or a Community post — is sent to Anthropic's image-analysis API for one purpose only: confirming it's genuinely drink-related and doesn't contain unsafe or illegal content, before anyone else can see it.
We use a small number of service providers to run Caffeinated. We don't run ads, we don't use tracking or analytics SDKs, and we don't sell your data to anyone, ever.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it to data brokers or anyone else. You can control which in-app notifications you receive (friend check-ins, achievements) at any time in Settings.
Location comes up in two places, both under your control:
We keep your data for as long as your account stays active. Deleting a check-in, post, or comment removes it immediately.
To delete your account, go to Settings → Delete account in the app. This immediately and permanently removes your profile, check-ins, photos, comments, and every other trace of your account — there's no waiting period, and it can't be undone.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain uses of it. To exercise any of these, contact us below. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Caffeinated is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it promptly.
We rely on industry-standard safeguards from our infrastructure providers — encrypted connections and access-controlled databases — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so while we work to protect your data, we can't guarantee absolute security.
As Caffeinated evolves, we may update this policy. If we make a material change, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
